Sanlorenzo introduces SL110A

Presenting a new architectural statement in yachting, the Sanlorenzo SL110A blends elegant form with purposeful innovation. As the latest evolution of the Sanlorenzo’s acclaimed asymmetrical line, it reimagines what a 33-metre yacht can be – offering expansive light-filled interiors, seamless indoor-outdoor flow, and a deeper connection to the sea.

Debuting at the Cannes Yachting Festival (9–14 September), the SL110A is a vessel for owners who demand beauty without compromise, and versatility with vision.

“SL110A is a clear statement of Sanlorenzo’s design philosophy – where architectural purity meets innovation with purpose, yet elegance,” says Tommaso Vincenzi, CEO of Sanlorenzo.

“The SL 110A concept embodies the sophisticated spatial ergonomics that made the iconic SL108 a true industry benchmark, setting her clearly apart from competition. It was this very design vision that, twenty years ago, enabled Sanlorenzo to establish itself in the larger yachts segment.

“The asymmetry is not just aesthetic: it unlocks greater interior space, uninterrupted views, and a feeling of openness that transforms life on board. It’s a yacht designed for those who appreciate elegance and architectural intellect in equal measure.”

A result of the collaboration between Sanlorenzo and Zuccon International Project for the exterior design and Piero Lissoni, Lissoni & Partners, for the interiors, the SL110A represents an authentic and accomplished synthesis of design, functionality, comfort and performance with her speed reaching up to 27 kn.

The perfect balance of form and function

The SL110A marks the culmination of a design journey that began with the SL102A and evolved through the SL106A. Its elegant, timeless lines and carefully reduced stylistic elements create a refined profile that transcends trends. Subtle asymmetry enhances visual harmony while also unlocking more liveable interior volume. A technical innovation – staggered gangways on the starboard and port sides – allows the gangway area to be absorbed into the interior layout, further increasing spaciousness and comfort.

Architectural intellect and adaptability

The reimagined bow, developed with Lissoni & Partners, eliminates the typical aerodynamic ‘bonnet’ in favour of a true sea-facing terrace, complete with integrated sofas and a swimming pool. The result is a minimalist yet elegant retreat, optimised for liveability and connection with the water. A hidden hatch cleverly conceals the mooring area, ensuring cleaner lines and improved usability.

The stern continues the design narrative, with references to the SL86A interpreted through a modern lens. A transparent gunwale creates a seamless connection between cockpit and sea, while the pivoting beach platform reveals a garage for both tender and jet ski. Retractable stairs and gangways preserve the yacht’s clean silhouette. The versatile outdoor lounge on the main deck can shift from sunbathing to dining without fixed configurations, underscoring the yacht’s flexibility.

Bernardo Zuccon, Zuccon International Project, comments: “Asymmetry on SL110A is not simply a formal gesture, it’s a language of space and intent. It allows us to sculpt wider interiors, open panoramic views, and dissolve boundaries between inside and out. In every curve and volume, there is a deliberate move toward an architecture that enhances the owner’s connection to the sea.”

Elegant and sophisticated interiors

The interior architecture of the SL110A is conceived as a continuation of the exterior experience. Large windows, retractable bulwarks, and sliding gunwales allow light and air to pour in, dissolving boundaries and enhancing the sensation of space. Guests can enjoy a lounge that opens onto the sea via a drop-down terrace, creating an expansive, immersive environment.

“Given her new proportions, dimensions and clean lines, I believe the SL110A is one of the most elegant yacht Sanlorenzo’s ever produced – perhaps one of the most elegant yacht currently in production,” says Piero Lissoni, Lissoni & Partners. “She has a design language that is increasingly architectural and distinctly less naval.”

It is this fusion with the exterior environment that enhances the experience of the owner and his guests, allowing ample breathing space in an interplay between the interior and the sea.

Highlighting this, when the boat is at anchor on the starboard side it is possible to pull down the bulwark and open up a terrace overlooking the sea. The same effect is recreated by the gunwale that slides downwards, widening the window below to allow guests to fully enjoy the outside environment, being closer to the sea.

A sanctuary at sea

At the heart of the SL110A lies the wide-body, full-beam owner’s suite – conceived as a true sanctuary. It provides panoramic sea views, total privacy, and direct access to the foredeck pool. A private entry connects the master cabin with the bow and upper decks, allowing the owner to enjoy separation while staying connected with every corner of the yacht. This intelligent use of space elevates comfort and intimacy at sea.

Below deck are four guest cabins (two VIP, two convertible twin/doubles) and generous crew quarters with three cabins, six berths, and a separate mess to ensure operational privacy.

The flybridge mezzanine houses the wheelhouse, while offering the flexibility to create a sunbathing lounge, al fresco dining area, or private retreat with direct access to the pool.

Dark wood panelling, coffered ceilings with resin finishes, herringbone patterns, and stone-effect materials define the yacht’s refined interior atmosphere. The owner’s bathroom is finished in luxurious Calacatta marble.

The SL110A is more than a yacht –  it is a design statement.

From the sculpted asymmetry that expands space and light, to the seamless interplay between interior and exterior, it redefines the relationship between form and function.

Crafted for discerning owners who seek grace, vision, and personal connection with the sea, this is asymmetry perfected, space redefined.

This exceptional new model will be on display for the first time at the Cannes Yachting Festival, 9-14 September.

Sanlorenzo unveils SX120

Sanlorenzo has unveiled its new SX120, the largest-ever yacht in its crossover range, heralding a pioneering new product concept which breaks the mould of traditional yachting and reinforces Sanlorenzo’s position as an industry leader. This incredible new model will be on display for the first time at the Cannes Yachting Festival, 9-14 September.

Representing the shipyard’s commitment to both product evolution and innovation, the SX120 is the first yacht to feature the pioneering new IPS (Inboard Performance System) Professional Platform, developed by Volvo Penta. The innovative IPS Professional Platform uses twin 1,000 HP engines per pod, delivering the performance of larger engines with a smaller footprint, reduced fuel consumption, and lower emissions. Its introduction is fully aligned with Sanlorenzo’s pathway to reducing environmental impact, commitment and promotion of sustainability in the nautical sector.

SX120 fuses pioneering technology with cutting-edge nautical design, headlined by an inspiring 70 sqm beach area featuring opening side decks, a 360° panoramic view from the upper deck, a sun deck with configurable smart island.  The beach area, moreover, offers her owners the flexibility of a retractable swimming pool, which can be covered or uncovered through a lift and slide mechanism of the sundeck to ensure aesthetic usability, privacy, and safety in navigation.

Fusing flying bridge and explorer

A synthesis between the classic motoryacht with a flying bridge and the explorer range, the SX line is designed to efficiently and harmoniously integrate style, adaptability and functionality, transforming navigation  and life on board into a new and engaging experience. Consistent with the stylistic features of the range, the SX120 has sleek, sporty lines and its wide onboard spaces are seamlessly connected with the external environment. With its 270 GT tonnage and 37-metre length, SX120 is the largest vessel built according to the brand’s revolutionary SX concept.

“SX120 represents the natural evolution of a range that has changed the way yachting is conceived and redefined the experience of living on board, introducing a new idea of space, livability and connection with the sea,” says Tommaso Vincenzi, CEO Sanlorenzo.

“The new flagship of the SX line combines functionality and aesthetics, simplicity and elegance, performance and sustainability in a single product. In addition, the SX120 is the first yacht of a big size to integrate Volvo Penta’s new IPS Professional Platform, a compact and efficient system prepared for the use of hybrid energy sources, and designed to improve performance, autonomy and comfort while sailing. This innovative propulsion platform allows for the achievement of certainly unique design solutions related to the use of efficient PODs drive even on large yachts”

Once again, the perfect conceptual and formal balance between the boat’s exteriors and interiors stems from the collaboration with Zuccon International Project and Piero Lissoni, who enhance with their usual elegance and mastery all the potential of this yacht with its essential and sophisticated design.

Innovation and comfort: unprecedented space for an extendable beach area

“The Sanlorenzo SX120 is a project that is a manifesto of the evolutionary path that the SX range has taken in recent years,” says Bernardo Zuccon, Zuccon International Project.

“A journey that – with SX88, SX76, SX112 and then SX100 – has unequivocally demonstrated the concept’s ability to decline in different dimensions. An evolution that has not limited itself to recalibrating the proportions of a basic design but has led to the creation of boats with their own identities, equipped with features and design solutions that justify the positioning of each model within the range.”

Across its four decks, the SX120 is characterised by a total rethinking of space, and by the displacement of volumes to the bow and an impressive aft cockpit, completely dedicated to bathing activities. Stepping aboard, you encounter one of the boat’s distinctive elements: the 40sqm beach area that, thanks to opening side terraces, can extend up to 70sqm.

The entire platform allows maximum connection with the sea through convenient water access on three sides. The same beach area also houses a ‘pop-up’ pool, which can be covered or uncovered through a lift and slide sundeck mechanism to ensure optimal sailing conditions. A unique solution on the market, a symbol of Sanlorenzo’s research and attention to detail.

A few steps connect the beach area with a large, cozy and bright lounge, an ideal continuation of the outdoor space. The lower deck also houses four guest cabins, one of which can be kept open as a lounge or closed to convert it into a cabin, a small hammam and the crew area.

The generous aft spaces onboard the SX120 are the direct result of the use of  Volvo Penta’s IPS Professional Platform. This platform, designed for the modular integration of both traditional and alternative energy sources, stands out for its extreme compactness and optimised propulsion architecture. These features enable a significant reduction in the engine room space, freeing up valuable volumes that can be repurposed during the design phase for the owners, guests and crew.

From the propulsion point of view,” says Nicola Pomi, VP Marine Sales Yacht and Superyacht Division. “Volvo Penta’s IPS Professional platform represents a technological evolution geared toward efficiency. The system makes use of steerable units and hydrodynamically optimised counter-rotating propellers, which allow a significant reduction in energy losses and a marked improvement in manoeuvrability, especially at low speeds.”

A distinctive feature of the platform is the Eco Mode function, which is a new smart feature that automatically adjusts engine power based on real-time demand to optimise fuel consumption, reduce emissions and mechanical wear. The platform will consider optimal fuel consumption and engine run-time hours to engage the engine with the least hours for a given scenario. This will improve efficiency and extend service/maintenance intervals. The propulsion is equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust gas treatment service.

The benefits are clear: lower specific fuel consumption, reduced harmful emissions and decreased noise levels – all contributing positively to both the marine environment and onboard comfort. Aligned with Sanlorenzo and Volvo’s vision for more sustainable yachting, Eco Mode and the SCR represent a concrete solution balancing performance and environmental responsibility.

Brightness, flexibility and open views of the sea: the elegance of essential

“The SX120 is the latest addition to the SX family, which I think is the most creative range in living memory in yachting in the last 30 years,” says Piero Lissoni, Lissoni & Partners. “The SX120 is a spectacular floating architecture. We took all the things the other SXs taught us and put them here. It has beaches, floors that interconnect, big openings…a real floating villa in the body of an absolutely extraordinary project that the SX is.”

Moving up to the main deck, the attention is drawn to a vast saloon, enveloped in natural light thanks to the large windows, where a magnificent sculptural wooden staircase, clad externally in steel, bears the unmistakable signature of Piero Lissoni. Inserted in the centre of the boat, it is an element that adds value to the environment, and at the same time a functional solution that allows a fluid connection between the decks.

The main deck also houses aft, a dining area open on three sides, which can accommodate up to 14 guests and from which the salon is accessed through the transparencies of a large window. The positioning of the guest cabins on the lower deck made it possible to devote the forward part of this deck completely to the bright master bedroom with a sea view, which enjoys direct access to a space in the bow, an area that can be equipped as a sundeck or a patio, with a coffee table and an outdoor lounge.

Climbing the elegant staircase leads to the upper deck, which boats an amazing 360-degree view open to the horizon. The spacious interior is designed with great flexibility to become a dining area, media room or play room at the owner’s request.

The upper deck then opens onto a cozy lounge overlooking the sea, connected via an external staircase to one of SX120’s most original innovations: the flybridge, which, for the first time on this type of yacht, is transformed into an elegant sun deck. A new concept is introduced here, the Smart Island, a modular seating system that can be freely configured and equipped with additional features. A reserved, almost hidden space in which to enjoy maximum privacy.

Sanlorenzo at Venice Climate Week

During the first edition of Venice Climate Week (3 – 8 June 2025), Sanlorenzo reaffirms its commitment to a more sustainable future by participating as the Main Partner in a project that places Venice at the heart of an international dialogue on climate change, innovation, and regenerative economic models.

The new event in Italy to celebrate World Environment Day and World Oceans Day, conceived and directed by Riccardo Luna in collaboration with the Future Food Institute, is an international week dedicated to climate change, sustainability, and new models of regenerative economy, aimed at restarting a dialogue among institutions, citizens, businesses, activists, scientists, and artists.

Sanlorenzo’s participation stems from a clear vision: to make yachting increasingly environmentally friendly through concrete actions and cutting-edge technologies. Among these is the innovative project for the development of the first green methanol bi-fuel propulsion system, which by 2027 will lead to the launch of the 50X-Space, superyacht capable of reducing navigation emissions by up to 70%.

50 X-Space

This project is part of Sanlorenzo’s ‘Road to 2030’ strategy, during which the shipyard has already taken significant steps towards sustainability with the launch of two revolutionary models: 50Steel, the world’s first superyacht equipped with a Fuel Cell system fuelled by hydrogen reformed directly on board from green methanol to generate electricity, used to power the hotellerie services, and Bluegame’s BGH-HSV (Hydrogen Support Vessel), the first chase boat powered exclusively by hydrogen, achieving zero emissions.

On 3 June, during Venice Climate Week, the Sanlorenzo will open Casa Sanlorenzo, a new cultural hub designed by Piero Lissoni in the heart of the lagoon city. Not only a symbol of the brand’s philosophy of art, design, and innovation, Casa Sanlorenzo will also serve as one of the official venues of the event, hosting the ‘Sanlorenzo Talks’, a series of meetings and conversations focused on ecological transition and sustainable innovation, featuring prominent stakeholders from the scientific, cultural, and industrial fields.

The event will host around 100 national and international speakers, including Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman Sanlorenzo, who commented: “Being a partner in the first edition of Venice Climate Week is an important step for us, consistent with the industrial vision we are pursuing: an innovation that puts sustainability at the centre. With the 50Steel and the BGH-HSV projects, launched in 2024, and 50X-Space planned for 2027 with bi-fuel propulsion, we have taken and continue to take decisive steps towards the goal of a zero-emission yacht. We want to share this journey with those who, like us, believe that the future of yachting should be more conscious, technological and environmentally respectful.”

Sanlorenzo’s involvement in Venice Climate Week complements its participation in the Venice Boat Show, from 30 May – 2 June, where the 50Steel will be showcased, underscoring its tangible move towards more conscious yachting.

For Sanlorenzo, sustainability is not just a statement of intent but a concrete industrial strategy, integrated at every level of production, from design to technological innovation, to the selection of collaborations and supported events. Venice Climate Week is therefore the natural setting to share this vision and contribute to the global debate on the planet’s future.

Sanlorenzo UK and Howden host a musical masterpiece

Last week (3 April) saw an unprecedented celebration of classical music and artisan craftsmanship in central London.

Hosted by Sanlorenzo Yachts UK and Howden Private Clients at the Minotti London showroom, the evening brought together a distinguished audience for a rare and extraordinary performance.

A truly priceless musical interlude unfolded as two remarkable Stradivarius violins, in the hands of the world-renowned violinists Tomo Keller and Andrew Bernardi, played together for the first time.

Two men in blue suits playing violins

Crafted over three centuries ago by the legendary Italian luthier Antonio Stradivari, these historic instruments – though visually distinct – demonstrated their unparalleled ability to project with power and clarity, commanding attention to be heard above the force of a full orchestra.

Set against Minotti’s exquisitely curated backdrop on Margaret Street, the intimate gathering was immersed in the exceptional tonal nuances and dynamic range that define these rare musical masterpieces.

Nick Hatfield, Managing Director at Sanlorenzo Yachts UK, reflected on the profound connection between Stradivari’s craftsmanship and Sanlorenzo’s legacy of yacht building:

“For over 60 years, Sanlorenzo has exemplified the finest Italian craftsmanship in luxury yacht building. Just as every Sanlorenzo yacht is a singular work of art, with its own story to tell, each Stradivarius violin is uniquely crafted, with a sound and character as distinctive as the instrument itself.”

With only 650 Stradivarius violins believed to exist today, these instruments are among the rarest in the world. Their preservation is paramount, yet their true essence is realised only through performance.

People seated on sofas watching a man give a speech

Charlie Jenkins, Head of Asset Finance at SPF Private Clients, Part of Howden, emphasised the delicate balance between preservation and use:

“Instruments of this calibre must not only be safeguarded – they should be played. The relationship between violin and violinist is symbiotic: the more an instrument is played, the more it develops its voice, enriching both its sound and the artist’s interpretation of the music.”

Despite their historical and artistic significance, Stradivarius violins remain financially out of reach for many of the world’s most gifted musicians. It is only through philanthropy and dedicated patronage that these rare instruments continue to grace the global stage – a challenge Howden is committed to addressing.

Jenkins unveiled a vision close to the heart of Howden as the leading insurance broker for fine instruments:

“We understand the profound impact that an instrument can have on a musician’s career. Our vision is to ensure that exceptional violins, like those played by Tomo and Andrew, are brought out of storage and placed in the hands of talented artists. Achieving this goal will require the support of philanthropists and investors, and we are confident that Howden, given our market position, can lead this initiative. Our aim is to ensure these instruments continue to inspire and transform the lives of the finest musicians of their generation.”

The evening at Minotti was more than a performance – it was a testament to the enduring legacy of craftsmanship, and the importance of preserving musical and artistic excellence for generations to come.
