Sanlorenzo has unveiled the second hull of its flagship 74Steel, Virtuosity, a breathtaking bespoke superyacht developed over more than four years of close collaboration between its visionary owner and the shipyard. Built on the same engineered platform and diesel-electric configuration as the first hull, it has transformed a proven technical foundation into a radically personalised spatial concept.
Virtuosity introduces several features never seen on a yacht: a living tree rising through two decks, a submerged aquarium carved directly into the hull, a transformative Ocean Resort and a reflecting pool designed as an atmospheric architectural element.

Co-Creation: A four-year process
74Steel Virtuosity, is the clearest expression of Sanlorenzo’s owner‑centric philosophy: an engineered framework capable of evolving into distinct identities without compromising reliability, performance or recognisability.
The dialogue with the owner began over four years ago, including 18 months of weekly calls before the design phase: an extended period dedicated to defining a way of living on board, later developed into architectural and interior form by Sanlorenzo’s Style Department, with Studio Paolo Ferrari leading the interior design.
“With this yacht, we chose to rethink onboard architecture from its very foundations,” says Tommaso Vincenzi, CEO of Sanlorenzo.
“74Steel Virtuosity represents a decisive step forward in the way we conceive space on board. From the integration of living nature to the transformation of technical volumes into experiential environments, every choice stems from a clear architectural vision. Innovation here is not about excess, but about coherence and balance.”
The Vision: A dream that knows no limits
From this conceptual foundation, each element rethinks space from within, allowing nature, structure and human experience to converge in unprecedented ways.
At the heart of the Main Deck, a Ficus Nitida rises through an oval void connecting two decks. Conceived as living architecture, it was selected before the first structural block was assembled, and the entire yacht grew around it. Capable of physically and visually linking the decks, the tree transforms the perception of space into a structured contemplative experience. Two lateral skylights at floor level channel natural light downward, nourishing both growth and atmosphere.

The tree was carefully selected on precise botanical and dimensional criteria, ensuring full compatibility with the available space and with its expected long‑term growth. It goes beyond the simple placement of a vegetal element: it establishes a coherent and controlled micro‑ecosystem designed to support the tree’s vitality over time.
Such an approach reflects a design vision in which nature and naval architecture engage in a genuine, responsible dialogue. By integrating natural elements through scientifically informed choices and controlled environmental management, the project reinforces its commitment to sustainability – promoting a balanced relationship between technological innovation, ecological resilience, and long‑term environmental stewardship.
On the Lower Deck the Ocean Resort, generally known as a Beach Area, extends 18 metres from the beach platform to the first bulkhead, exceeding 230 sqm, approximately forty percent larger than the first hull of the 74Steel line. Fold-downside platforms and a walkaround layout dissolve boundaries with the sea. A 28 sqm glass-bottom pool defines the aft, functioning as a lounge dedicated to water toys by day and transforming into a club space by night owing to the presence of a DJ booth.
Ahead lies the Aquarium, approximately 35 sqm within the wellness area comprising hammam, sauna, massage room, cryotherapy and posarium, with an opening terrace. A partially submerged glazed section of the hull transforms the side shell into a window below the waterline. Seated inside, guests experience the marine landscape flowing silently beyond the transparency of steel and glass.

On the Owner’s Deck, the reflecting pool extends the suite outward. It is conceived not as a conventional pool, but as a calibrated sheet of water amplifying sky and light. A multifunctional platform with removable seating allows transformation, while a sensory shower mediates between interior and exterior.
On the Sun Deck, the external profile has been reinterpreted to enclose the gym while maintaining opening glazing at bow, stern and sides. This protected yet permeable environment introduces a new functional centrality on the higher-level integrating activity, panorama and spatial continuity within a single, coherent architectural gesture.
The realization of such ambitious solutions has been made possible by the shipyard’s capacity to transform complexity and experimentation into constructive balance. Technical teams translated spatial daring into coherent and secure systems, integrating nature, structure and technology within a unified architectural logic.
One shared vision
This project took form through a continuous dialogue not only between shipyard and owner, but also with partners of excellence who translated a shared architectural vision into exterior line, interior atmosphere and living nature. The collaboration between Sanlorenzo’s Style Department and Studio Paolo Ferrari evolved as an authentic act of co-creation.
Zuccon International Project interpreted the external lines by translating the architectural framework into an elegant, measured profile. Compared to the first hull, the bow has evolved from a vertical stance to a more arrow-shaped, dynamic configuration, reinforced by a sportier chromatic identity. The result is a silhouette that feels more assertive and fluid yet remains coherent with the shipyard’s classical language.
“With the 74Steel Virtuosity we embraced a true change of scale, but above all a change of perspective” says Bernardo Zuccon, Zuccon International Project.
“It was not simply about designing the largest yacht ever built by Sanlorenzo, but about interpreting a very precise vision of the owner and translating it into naval architecture. In this sense, Virtuosity is not merely a new model, but a shared process that allowed a personal dream to take shape within a solid and recognisable structure.’’
The change is not stylistic for its own sake, but a recalibration of proportion and momentum, aligning exterior form with the project’s deeper architectural ambition.

Inside, Studio Paolo Ferrari collaborated with Sanlorenzo developing the yacht’s interior architecture and project-specific custom furniture. Light-toned palettes define the spaces, while continuous surfaces and calibrated compositions transform the structural framework into lived experience.
‘’Our collaboration with Sanlorenzo on Virtuosity proposes a fundamentally new vision for life at sea,‘’ added Paolo Ferrari, Studio Paolo Ferrari.
‘’Interior architecture and custom furnishings were developed in parallel with the ship itself, while at its centre, a living tree rises through a vertical opening. Inspired by the tonal atmosphere of the Mediterranean, the material palette reinforces clarity, proportion, and restraint. Driven by an uncompromising commitment to innovation, the 74Steel reflects our belief that a yacht can transcend function and become something more experiential and more human.”
Step Onboard: Deck by deck
The onboard experience unfolds as a continuous spatial narrative, where each deck flows into the next and exterior and interior remain in constant dialogue.
At sea level, the Ocean Resort becomes the epicentre of this philosophy. Fold-down lateral platforms connected by a walkaround configuration expand its breadth, while glass-bottom pool, supported by steel beams, anchors the composition. Throughout the day, the space mutates: a relaxed lounge dedicated to water toys and open-air living under the sun; by night, an immersive club atmosphere. From here, the transition into the Aquarium deepens the relationship with the sea, bringing the underwater landscape inside, while forward, two dedicated garages complete the functional framework, integrating leisure and logistics within a single coherent architectural vision.

Ascending to the Main Deck, the spatial narrative shifts from horizontality to verticality. From the stern pool, access leads directly to the main saloon, where the tree finds its architectural roots, rising through two decks. Circulation unfolds around this living core, with seating arranged to open perspectives forward, aft and outward, and a bar area oriented toward the bow. Beyond, a triple-height lobby connects three decks through a dark lacquered aluminium helical staircase and lift, establishing a strong visual and functional axis. On the starboard side, glazing gives way to a custom wine cellar. Forward, the guest area includes two guest cabins, one VIP and the first owner’s suite of approximately 80 sqm, characterized by the rotation of the bed toward the window to expand dressing and bathroom areas and by the presence of an opening window that reinforces the connection with the horizon.
The Bridge Deck continues this interplay between enclosure and openness. A 42 sqm winter garden veranda, requested by the owner and developed by the shipyard together with Studio Zuccon International Project, functions as an interior space lived as exterior. A single formal dining table and bar area define the social core, supported by a lobby with walk-in wine cellar. Two additional guest cabins occupy this level, while the captain’s cabin is positioned adjacent to the wheelhouse. Forward, the touch-and-go helipad and sport deck extend functionality without interrupting the architectural coherence.

The Owner’s Deck is conceived as a private retreat. A cinema lounge at the stern introduces a warmer chromatic atmosphere in hazelnut and brown tones, while at the bow there is approximately 140 sqm of interior and exterior space with the second owner’s cabin, including the reflecting pool. The sensory shower placed between cabin and water element mediates the passage between enclosure and openness, reinforcing the fluidity that defines the entire yacht.
At the summit, the Sun Deck redefines the yacht’s silhouette through a deliberate modification of the external profile to host the gym. This intervention establishes a new functional centrality on the upper deck, integrating also a pool and a convivial aft area conceived for informal dining and relaxation, completing a composition in which vitality and leisure coexist.
A new benchmark for the 74Steel line
Virtuosity, the second hull in Sanlorenzo’s 74Steel line, marks a new milestone for the shipyard and reinforces its leadership in the sub-2000 GT superyacht segment.
Conceived through an extended, highly collaborative process, the yacht reflects the depth of time and dialogue invested to define a shared vision before design execution. The result is a distinctive expression of personalisation: a 74Steel that expands the line’s potential while remaining instantly recognisable as Sanlorenzo.
