Sanlorenzo reconfirming its position as the world’s leading mono-brand shipyard.

Sanlorenzo is once again at the top of the annual Global Order Book, the ranking compiled and published by Boat International – the magazine of reference in the yachting world – which certifies the trend of the worldwide market for yachts over 24 metres in length.

With 117 projects in 2021 equivalent to a total length of 4,159 metres, more than 31 projects and 1,000m more than in 2020, Sanlorenzo once again confirms itself as the first mono-brand shipyard in the world in its sector, consolidating a constant growth trend over the years.

In line with the trend highlighted by the “Running Hot” Global Order Book analysis, which underlines a strong increase in the manufacturers’ order book for the years 2022 and 2023, the company – listed on Euronext STAR since 2019 – is supported by a record backlog that covers a significant part of the revenues expected in the next two years.

The prestigious result of the Global Order Book 2022 comes at the end of a year of great successes for Sanlorenzo: among the most recent, the contract signed by the Superyacht Division for a 72Steel, the largest superyacht ever built by the shipyard, destined to become the new flagship of the fleet, while in September Sanlorenzo announced an exclusive strategic partnership with Siemens Energy for the construction of a fuel cell system for the generation of electricity in a 50-metre superyacht, scheduled for delivery in 2024. It will be the world’s first installation of a fuel cell system in a superyacht.

Providing professional warranty and service aftercare for new Sanlorenzo and Bluegame yachts.

Specific responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:

  • Client experience – ensuring the client experience exceeds all expectations, being warm, courteous and exemplary in its execution.
  • Build surveys – liaising with the build surveyor, yard and /or clients to ensure any points raised pre-handover are resolved prior to handover.
  • Commissioning and sea trials – visit the factory during build and upon completion to sign off the yacht.
  • Handover – accompanying the clients during the handover process, acting as their representative as necessary.
  • Client communication – acting as the main point of contact between clients, captains and build yard for aftersales, warranty and service.
  • Oversee and satisfactorily resolve all warranty issues for the Sanlorenzo and Bluegame range, working closely with all stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues, maintaining a positive customer relation in all communications.
  • Monitor the warranty cost recovery, ensure that non-recoverable costs are kept within acceptable levels and other costs are recovered.
  • Develop a comprehensive Aftersales service to include parts and service work for new boat customers, ensuring client retention through a comprehensive customer care experience.
  • Providing out of hours telephone support as and when required.

 

Person Specification

  • Previous experience with either construction, maintenance or operation of yachts, and detailed technical knowledge of a power boat’s systems and equipment a requirement.
  • A smart and well-presented appearance.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with customers, suppliers and colleagues alike.
  • Solid commercial and business acumen.
  • Must have a flexible attitude to working weekends if required and be able to travel both in the UK and abroad at short notice if needed.
  • The ideal candidate will currently be working in a similar role within the marine industry.

Sunseeker 86 Hard8 – SOLD

The 26.29 metre Sunseeker 86 Yacht Hard 8 has been sold. Listed for sale with Nick Hatfield of Sanlorenzo Yachts UK, the buyer was introduced by Harry Bristow-Holmes of Bristow-Holmes.

 

Built by Sunseeker, this GRP yacht was launched in May 2017 with the highest degree of specification of any Sunseeker 86 to leave the yard.  Her interior in satin-finished wenge wood comfortably accommodates eight guests in four cabins consisting of an amidships master suite, a forward VIP and two double guest cabins.  All guest cabins have entertainment centres, Apple television screens and en-suite bathroom facilities. The crew quarters are located aft.

 

The spacious main saloon has large settees to port and starboard, plus armchairs and ottomans, with an entertainment centre featuring a Bose stereo surround sound home cinema system.  Forward of the saloon is a formal dining area with seating for eight guests, while further forward still is an open galley with breakfast area.

 

The yacht’s exterior spaces are designed for relaxing, entertaining and dining, with the aft deck having built in seating around a teak table and the foredeck sunbathing area incorporating a removable parasol. On the flybridge, shaded by the hard top, she offers a wet bar with barbecue, sit-up bar, hot tub and sunpads.

 

Twin 1,500hp MTU diesel engines power the vessel to speeds of up to 30 knots and she is fitted with hydraulic fin stabilisers.

 

Hard 8 was sold for an undisclosed sum, but was asking £3,550,000 ex VAT.

Sanlorenzo signs an exclusive partnership with Siemens Energy

A collaboration focused on developing new solutions to reduce the environmental impact of motor yachts.

Sanlorenzo opened the Cannes Yachting Festival announcing the signing of an exclusive agreement with Siemens Energy for the joint development of solutions for the integration of fuel cell technology in the 24-80m yachting sector and two contracts for the development and the purchase of next generation diesel electric and hybrid systems. The agreement will enable the creation of new technologies aimed at significantly reducing the impact of yacht usage on the marine ecosystem, with significant benefits in terms of environmental sustainability. The collaboration will be implemented in three areas:

  • Methanol fuel cell systems for generating electricity on board: an innovative solution, not yet available in the yachting sector, which allows the vessel to generate electricity when the engines and generators are off, significantly extending the time spent at anchor and while underway without consuming diesel fuel. The project aims to create a “net-zero GHG emission” system compatible with the limited space available on board and with use in a marine environment. The first prototype will be installed on a 50-metre Sanlorenzo hybrid superyacht currently in advanced design, whose delivery is expected in 2024.
  • New generation diesel electric propulsion systems aimed at reducing GHG emissions and fuel consumption, intended for application on yacht models over 50 metres: the current technology, already used on megayachts, thanks to the collaboration with Siemens Energy will see a significant evolution in terms of energy efficiency and reduction of overall dimensions and will be integrated with the latest generation of lithium batteries and hotel utility management systems; in the future, it will also be possible to integrate electrical generation through fuel cells. The first signed order covers the application on three Sanlorenzo units from 50 to 70 metres.
  • New-generation hybrid propulsion systems designed to reduce GHG emissions and fuel consumption, intended for use on yachts below 50 meters: the current technology, already used on superyachts, thanks to the collaboration with Siemens Energy, will see significant optimisation in terms of size, costs and ease of use and will be integrated with the latest generation of lithium battery systems and hotel utility management; in the future, it will also be possible to integrate electrical generation via fuel cells. The first signed order is for implementation on the new SD90S model which will see light during 2022.

Announcing the arrival of the first Sanlorenzo SX88 in the UK.

Sanlorenzo Yachts UK & Ireland is delighted to announce arrival of the first Sanlorenzo SX88 in the UK.

Turning heads as she made her way up the river to her temporary berth outside the Sanlorenzo UK office in Swanwick marina, near Southampton.

The SX88 offers an expansive saloon with large floor to ceiling windows affording panoramic views and minimising the division between the interior and exterior of the yacht. A feature unique to the SX88 is the removal of a helm station from the main deck, which allows a new owner the space and flexibility to choose from a number of different layouts.

On the flybridge, the helm position can be entirely enclosed and air-conditioned with automatically operated side windows, leaving the vast main deck free from stern to bow – an exclusive loft which is suitable for navigating in all weather conditions.

The transom design on this 27-metre yacht allows for the storage of multiple water toys and a tender up to 4.5 metres. When the toys are launched using the integrated crane the area converts into a spacious 30m2 beach club, complete with hydraulic swim platform.

Up to eight guests can be accommodated in the four-cabin lower deck layout lower, which is divided into a master suite, a forward VIP suite and two twin guest cabins.

Powered by three Volvo IPS1050-800HP, the SX88 has a fast-cruising speed of 18-20 knots, with a maximum speed of 23 knots.

 

This new SX88 will be available to view prior to handover through the Sanlorenzo UK team.

A perfect synthesis of functionality and design, the X-SPACE combines Sanlorenzo’s technical and design heritage in an unexpected interplay of proportions and balance that defines every area of the yacht.

A model that represents the company’s profound ability to respond to market demands, interpreting them according to the discreet elegance and refinement that has characterised the company since its inception and is appreciated by international owners, enthusiasts and sophisticated connoisseurs of the nautical world.

Symbolic of Sanlorenzo’s understated approach is the aft area on the main deck, a huge multi-function terrace with an 18-square-metre swimming pool overlooking the sea, which can be closed while underway or whilst in the marina. This open-air living room can be extended by another 18 square metres thanks to the folding balconies.

An innovative element of the X-SPACE is the unusual layout that brings the wheelhouse onto the Bridge Deck, freeing up the Upper Deck which is then dedicated entirely to the owner.

In line with Sanlorenzo’s tailored attitude, the X-SPACE offers an entire deck with extreme privacy that is independent from the other areas, it includes a study, living room and a large master cabin framed by glass walls, which encapsulates the presence of nature around it and overlooks a private deck at the bow, a 30-square-metre sunbed area which includes a swimming pool.

“I think it has never been so important as it has in this project to seek to identify with the owner, who will be the great commander of this boat, hence the desire to create an entire deck dedicated to their needs. This is a solution that is normally found on larger boats and it shows that this is a yacht where the owner will have the great luxury of being able to spend a lot of time on board. I’ve always thought that architecture is the primary tool to allow man to live better, and in this case the X-Space project was born with the desire not to create a wonderful floating structure, but to create a wonderful vessel for life.”

The X-SPACE project is characterised by the theme of transparency, which has characterised the design of the exteriors, by Studio Zuccon International Project, and made it possible to eliminate barriers and obstacles, achieving total fusion and continuity with the interiors, designed by Piero Lissoni.

“The X-SPACE has been forced to become a boat almost entirely made of glass: there are large panes of glass, large windows and some of the cabins no longer even have portholes but glass walls. The interior has forced its hand on the exterior and the exterior has been so elastic and so well designed that the interior has almost adapted itself in a totally natural way. I think this is the most innovative language I’ve seen on a superyacht to date and it has made it possible to create a compact boat but with extraordinary proportions and the unique quality of Sanlorenzo.”

First Sanlorenzo 57Steel underway

Sanlorenzo starts the construction of the first unit of the 57Steel superyacht at the La Spezia shipyard.

Time, dedication, know-how and a precise focus: breaking down the established rules of the nautical world to create yachts and superyachts capable of exploring new concepts of life on board.

A yacht that aims to become one of the new stars of the Sanlorenzo superyacht range. Equipped with a hybrid diesel/electric propulsion system, underlining the company’s ability to always look to the future by continuously studying solutions that can reduce the impact on the marine ecosystem.

This sophisticated superyacht with her elegant clean lines, a characteristic common to all the Sanlorenzo ranges is distinguished by its straight bow, giving it a striking yet purposeful profile.

The new 57Steel is an ambitious project, the result of another successful collaboration between the shipyard and Studio Zuccon International Project, which has led to the creation of a 56.70 metre long yacht with 5 decks and a tonnage of 1000 GT.

Her extraordinary volumes, which are double compared to the 52Steel, have made it possible to offer indoor and outdoor spaces that are decidedly unexpected for a yacht of this size.

The main design challenge for the 57Steel was to find the perfect balance between volumes and proportions, a challenge that was fully realised. This was achieved by creating an innovative layout: the wheelhouse area, normally forward on the upper deck, has been relocated to an additional deck – a real bridge deck, normally reserved for larger yachts – thus making it possible to use the upper deck for a different purpose. This is where the owner’s cabin is located, a 54-square-metre space overlooking the very large Owners Deck, a private deck from which to enjoy an exclusive view over the sea and beyond.

The new layout has also made it possible to create a spacious full-beam VIP cabin forward of the main deck that can be used as a second owner’s cabin.

An evolution of the 52Steel, the new model incorporates its winning features, in particular the design of the stern area where on the main deck, the swimming pool with its transparent floor, allows the passage of light into the environment below. An extraordinary beach club area of 110 square metres created by the opening balconies on three sides which become small beaches on the water’s edge, creating astonishing engagement with the sea.

One of the innovative elements of the 57Steel is the decision to place the garage at the bow, which has made it possible to create a large dedicated area equipped to accommodate tenders of up to 7.5m and numerous toys.

Thanks to a strategic division of space, the layout also allows for up to seven guest cabins and a further deck, below the lower deck, totally dedicated to services such as laundry, wardrobes and cold storage.
