From its shipyard in Ameglia, Italy, Sanlorenzo has launched a beautifully personalised SD90, an exquisite example of the 27-metre semi-displacement model from its popular SD Series.
Sweeping horizontal lines define the GRP hull and superstructure to offer a timeless aesthetic to this incredible 150 GT yacht, which boasts a beam of 7-metres and a draft of 1.87-metres, providing spacious and elegant accommodation for up to eight people.
With the build overseen by the expert team from Sanlorenzo’s UK representative, Sanlorenzo Yachts UK, this bespoke SD90 has been tailored to the unique tastes, style and requirements of the owner and his family.
“The build and design of this SD90, has been very much a family affair,” says Nick Hatfield, Sales Manager at Sanlorenzo Yachts UK and Ireland.
“The four ensuite cabins, comprising a full beam master on the main deck, two double guest cabins and one twin cabin with a pullman berth, make it an ideal family yacht to accommodate multiple generations.
“In addition, the crew area has its own mess, two crew cabins for up to four crew, both with their own bathrooms.
“This is a yacht perfectly suited to cruising in the Mediterranean where she’ll be based, allowing the owner and those onboard to escape the crowds in style and comfort while visiting the plethora of secluded coves and shallow anchorages only accessible via the sea.”
Powered by twin MAN 8V 1200HP engines, she has a range of over 1200 nautical miles at an efficient cruising speed of 11 knots.
Philippe Briand took care of the naval architecture, designing an economical and seaworthy hull. The exterior design was penned by the expert hands of Zuccon International Project, while the interior has been inspired by another great designer.
Hatfield continues: “The stunning interior of this SD90 has been inspired by the designs of Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola, with curved, fluted wood featured throughout, and the shipyard’s in-house design team worked closely with the owner’s wife and daughter-in-law to craft the desired finish.
“With her own design studio, the owner’s daughter-in-law also styled the interior, curating the soft décor and tasteful furniture which shape the yacht’s voluminous living areas, personalising it to fully fulfil the family’s needs while afloat.
“This is the beauty of owning a Sanlorenzo, it can be completely tailor-made to an individual’s needs, supporting their lifestyle choices – working with them directly, a designer of their choice or utilising the expertise and artisan craftsmanship of the shipyard’s design team. The options are almost limitless.”
A project which highlights the shipyard’s versatility and expertise when bringing an owner’s dream yacht to life, this unique SD90 will be delivered to the family at the end of July in time to enjoy the end of the Mediterranean season.
At this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival (10-15 September 2024), the Sanlorenzo Yachts UK team will be presenting another exquisite example of an SD90, along side an incredible line-up of Sanlorenzo and Bluegame yachts – which includes two world debuts and multiple award-winning models.

Searching for and purchasing your dream yacht might feel like the end of a journey, but really, it’s the beginning of a whole new lifestyle.
To maximise enjoyment onboard and elevate your on-water adventures, equipping your new yacht with the right toys and entertainment systems is almost as important as making sure the bar and galley are well-stocked.
Having seamlessly curated the collection of tenders and toys on a Sanlorenzo 57Steel, our friends at Superyacht Tenders and Toys spoke to us about how the team turned this incredible superyacht into a personalised entertainment platform for all ages.
“Outfitting superyachts during the build phase is where we truly shine at Superyacht Tenders and Toys – it’s what we do best,” says Mark Peak, Head of Operations.
“When we were called upon in September 2021 to equip a stunning Sanlorenzo 57Steel, due for delivery in June 2023, we were in our element. The primary objective was to enhance the yacht’s allure as a charter vessel by offering a vibrant and versatile collection of water toys that not only promised exhilarating experiences but also aligned with the yacht’s sophisticated aesthetic.”
“Our in-house teams liaised with the owner’s team to understand their vision and storage options for the custom water toys before creating a visual adventure that outlined what we saw as the best superyacht toys for them.
“We suggested a line-up that promised to keep everyone on board diving into fun, from the thrill-seekers to the sun-soakers. Jet skis were top of their list, and working closely with the client, our team custom-painted these to embody the owner’s unique flair.
“Additionally, the SEABOBs boasted a unique full custom paint finish, echoing the owner’s preference for the sleekness of carbon fibre—a subtle touch of personal style for the water adventures ahead.
“We included everything from towables and paddleboards for family fun, snorkelling, and dive gear for underwater exploration, and for cutting-edge excitement, the Fliteboards were a must-have.
“And, for moments when sailing calls, we included a sleek folding dinghy. A bespoke set of inflatable platforms completed the beach club set-up, providing the perfect solution for additional space on the water. Not only do they extend the outdoor area for guests onboard but create the perfect place to park all the toys.
“Our team then hopped on board the yacht for a hands-on session with the crew with a mission to make sure our custom water toys and inflatables would feel right at home on the yacht.
“As the summer season kicked off in June 2023, the yacht was turning heads, decked out and charter-ready, sporting an impressive collection of high-end, bespoke water toys and inflatables.”

NatPower H and Bluegame have completed Italy’s first hydrogen refuelling for marine use, and one of the first in the world. This took place on board the BGH, the zero-emissions chase boat that will fly at 50 knots alongside the American Magic and the French Orient Express Racing teams during the 37th America’s Cup.
With this refuelling operation, Bluegame and NatPower H have announced a partnership that sees these two highly innovative companies allied in developing a long-term strategy to support the energy transition in the boating sector.
Their goal is to promote the use of hydrogen in leisure boating and revolutionise a sector committed to environmental sustainability and technological progress. This combination of skills will pave the way for entirely emissions-free boating in the future.
The refuelling of the BGH with green hydrogen was successfully performed in the Sanlorenzo shipyard of La Spezia at a pressure of approximately 180 bar. Carried out by NatPower H, the operation took 30 minutes and officially kicks off the testing phase of the two boats, which will culminate with a final refuelling at a pressure of 350 bar, scheduled for next month (July 2024).
“The story of Bluegame is a story of courage. The courage to continue to dare – Memento audere semper (always remember to dare), as Gabriele d’Annunzio would say,” says Carla Demaria, CEO of Bluegame.
From the creation of the first unconventional BG boat to the recent technological challenge of designing and building to comply with the very demanding America’s Cup protocol, BGH represents the pinnacle of sustainability possible today.
This project is part of the ‘Road to 2030’ global sustainability strategy of the Sanlorenzo Group, a pioneer in the path towards carbon neutrality. The exclusive use of hydrogen as a propulsion system is a complete novelty not only for Bluegame and the Sanlorenzo Group but for the entire leisure boating sector; it is therefore not an endpoint but a starting point.
“The completion of the chase boat’s refuelling is an operation that revolutionises the Italian and international boating market, paving the way for new generations of zero CO2 emission boats,” comments Andrea Minerdo, CEO of NatPower H. “NatPower H has set out on this new route by creating the world’s first comprehensive infrastructure for hydrogen refuelling in leisure boating.
“This project also marks a new direction in the way we sail. By using hydrogen as a green fuel, we can redesign the boating industry to be more mindful of the beauty of the environment and responsible for the fragility of our marine ecosystem. The commitment and partnership between NatPower H and Bluegame represent the first significant step towards the green transition in the yacht and superyacht industry.”

Cannes is far more than red carpets and Riviera glamour. For the discerning traveller, it offers a harmonious blend of cultural richness, Provençal charm, and refined elegance, all framed by the glittering azure waters of the Mediterranean.
Each September, yachting aficionados and lovers of life on the water gather in this vibrant and storied city for the Cannes Yachting Festival – Europe’s leading in-water yacht show.
September is a wonderful time to visit. Once August comes to a close, the city undergoes a metamorphosis as the frenetic energy of high season gently fades. What remains is the true essence of Cannes. To help you make the most of your visit, we’ve curated a guide to the best that Cannes has to offer.
The soul of Cannes: Le Suquet
Rising above the marina that plays host to the festival’s yachts and superyachts, Le Suquet is the historic heart of Cannes. This medieval quarter, with its cobbled streets, pastel facades, and panoramic sea views, offers a glimpse of the original Cannes – long before it became synonymous with cinema and luxury.
Don’t miss: The ascent to Église Notre-Dame d’Espérance, a tranquil 16th-century church with a prominent bell tower, and the 11th-century Tour du Suquet, a medieval lookout now offering one of the most breathtaking views along the coast.
Artisan charm: Le Suquet is more than a picture-postcard backdrop; it’s a thriving artistic enclave. Wander its winding alleys and discover ateliers restoring antiques, framing Riviera artwork, and handcrafting leather goods. Independent galleries display contemporary and international pieces in beautifully aged stone interiors.
Café terraces spill into the narrow streets, inviting you to linger over a chilled glass of Provençal rosé or indulge in a tasting menu at one of the city’s many hidden, chef-led gems.
A Provençal feast for the senses: Open-air markets
Cannes’ markets are vibrant expressions of its culinary heritage – places where flavour, tradition, and local character converge.
Marché Forville (daily except Monday): Just steps from Le Suquet, this iconic market is a treasure trove of seasonal produce, wild mushrooms, hand-picked herbs, Corsican charcuterie, alpine cheeses, and fresh seafood, including oysters, enjoyed right there with a chilled glass of white wine.
Marché Gambetta: Located near Rue d’Antibes, this urban-style market blends the traditional with the contemporary. Alongside fresh fruit and artisan breads, find gourmet preserves, handmade soaps, Provençal linens, and fashion from local designers. It’s the perfect stop for elegant souvenirs or gifts, with cafés nearby ideal for a relaxed espresso and a touch of people-watching.
Slow down and embrace the rhythm of Riviera life as Cannes’ markets invite you to savour its quieter luxuries: quality, community, and timeless simplicity.
Cannes is also the perfect base from which to discover the region’s natural beauty and cultural richness if you have time to stay for aa few more days.
The Îles de Lérins
Just off the coast and accessible by tender from the Vieux Port, the Îles de Lérins offer a tranquil contrast to the mainland’s buzz. Draped in pine trees and surrounded by crystalline waters, Île Sainte-Marguerite and Île Saint-Honorat are rich in history, nature, and quietude – ideal for contemplative walks, cultural immersion, or private wine tastings.
Île Sainte-Marguerite: Home to Fort Royal – once the prison of the mysterious Man in the Iron Mask – this island blends heritage and natural beauty. Explore the Musée de la Mer, wander along aromatic eucalyptus trails, and discover hidden coves for a secluded lunch. Offshore lies the Underwater Ecomuseum, a series of haunting stone sculptures by Jason deCaires Taylor, accessible only by snorkelling or diving, a magical artistic encounter below the shimmering surface.
Île Saint-Honorat: Smaller and more serene, this island has been home to Cistercian monks since the 5th century. The monastic community continues to produce award-winning organic wines, olive oil, and liqueurs, available to sample during private tastings in peaceful, sea-facing courtyards. The island’s medieval tower, chapels, and palm-lined paths make it perfect for a reflective half-day visit on foot.
The Bay of Cannes is your private aquatic playground. Whether you’re based onboard a yacht, in a five-star resort, or on a bespoke day charter, the possibilities are endless.
Watersports & Bespoke Adventures
From Seabobs and e-foils to paddleboards and electric tenders, every possible on-water experience is at your fingertips. Skilled instructors are on hand to guide everything from family-friendly outings to adrenaline-fuelled sessions.
Helicopter transfers can whisk you to Monaco, Saint-Tropez, Cap-Ferrat, or the vineyards of Provence, each offering spectacular aerial views en route.
For diving enthusiasts, private charters and eco-snorkelling expeditions offer intimate encounters with the marine life around the Lérins Islands. You can even book an underwater photography session with a marine guide – perfect for couples or families wanting to capture unforgettable memories.

Sanlorenzo’s SP110 model has won the prestigious Compasso d’Oro 2024 design award during a ceremony at the at the ADI Design Museum in Milan.
The international jury for the global design award praised the SP110 for its exceptional combination of Made in Italy design, high performance, and focus on sustainability – distinctive traits of the Italian Sanlorenzo shipyard.
Established by Gio Ponti in 1954, the Compasso d’Oro celebrates virtuous projects that combine quality, innovation, and cultural impact – not just the most popular or most visually appealing designs. Extremely selective, the Compasso d’Oro has only awarded just over 370 acknowledgements in its 70-year history, underscoring the prestigious nature of the accolade.
Launched at the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival, the revolutionary SP110 highlights Sanlorenzo’s effortless ability to blend tradition and innovation, offering yachts that meet the highest standards of design and technology while addressing the growing sustainability demands in the nautical sector.
The extraordinary balance of design, sustainability, and performance visible in this model results from collaboration of high-profile experts and creatives: Bernardo Zuccon for exterior design, Tilli Antonelli for product development, Marco Arnaboldi for the hull, and Piero Lissoni for the interiors.
The first of the ‘Smart Performance’ range, the SP110 can offer high performance with maximum energy efficiency owing to the use of fractional propulsion, composed of three engines. The energy recovery system also includes highly-efficient solar panels and lithium batteries, enabling hotellerie functions to be powered without the use of generators.
The exterior design, curated by Zuccon International Project, features aerodynamic shapes and a distinctive style. The interiors, designed by Piero Lissoni, follow elegant minimalism, using lightweight materials such as lava stone, and optimise the ample onboard spaces, designed to promote both conviviality and privacy, with innovative solutions such as the expanded sun deck and the well-equipped bow dinette.
It is due to these cutting-edge features that the international jury, decided to award the Compasso d’Oro to the hull, following a two year scientific selection process which involved a permanent multidisciplinary observatory of about 150 experts.
The SP110 is more than just a boat as it “interprets the idea of a floating home through new proportions, a new relationship between transparent and opaque surfaces, and new living solutions. A boat that renews the production process in a strategic sector, through careful research of constructive and usage sustainability factors.”
The Sanlorenzo SP110 will be on display at the ADI Design Museum From 20 June to 15 September 2024.

The Bluegame BGM75 has been selected as a winner in Robb Report’s Best of the Best list for 2024.
Winning in the Innovation category of the Best of Marine in the luxury publication’s 36th Annual Best of the Best issue, this incredible accolade places Bluegame BGM75 firmly amongst some of the leading names in the luxury yacht and superyacht industry.
Robb Report says to ‘expect copycats’ of the BGM75 as ‘the subtle luxury of the interior only increases the distance between this breakthrough design and other yachts its size’.
With the BGM75, Bluegame has created a motor yacht with a narrower beam than would usually been seen on a multihull of this size, offering a more ‘svelte’, less boxy profile without compromising on accommodation or entertainment space. Onboard there’s a full-beam main suite, featuring a large bedroom and sizable en-suite, the option of two or three guest cabins, an expansive 27-foot wide beach club with tender garage and a vast flybridge with uninterrupted 360 degree views.
The innovative twin hulled design also amplifies the efficiency of the BGM75, with the yacht consuming 30-percent less fuel than a 90-foot monohull of a similar volume.

So, from bespoke jewels of the sea to bespoke jewellery inspired by the ocean, take a journey to explore the pinnacle of luxury design…
Secrets of the Deep
The allure of water is a powerful thing and its mystery and sanctuary have offered incredible inspiration to creatives throughout time – from Monet and Turner to Dickenson, Tennyson, Hemmingway and countless more. Over the years the sea has kept its hold over art in many forms, including a great deal of W&W’s bespoke jewellery designs. Whether incorporating colours and textures to remind the wearer of a picture-perfect moment, or harnessing the more abstract power of freedom, the ocean allows unbridled scope for the imagination.
Jewellery Tied to the Ocean
The stunning ring above was created to honour a W&W client’s survival of a difficult time and also the importance of her strong connection to the sea. According to legend, aquamarines are known as mermaid’s stones, protecting sailors from the perils of the ocean. The piece became known as the Mermaid Ring, beautifully channelling her past and present in a design that will be worn and loved for many years to come.
Channelling the essence of the wearer into a bespoke design takes a multi-faceted approach. The below pendant, created as a wedding gift, was inspired by a client’s international lifestyle. Currently based in the South of France, with the Mediterranean Sea at every turn, the piece takes note from the couple’s curated life, with influences from local architecture and of course a palette of dazzling Mediterranean colour.
For many, finding exactly the right gemstone is key to perfect custom jewellery. W&W Jewellery’s extensive connections means it is able to scour the world for the right shade and quality of gemstone or diamond. From sourcing a rare colour-change sapphire to perfectly reflect ever shifting waters, to finding the perfect deep green tourmaline, reminiscent of family holidays off the east coast of Africa. Whether in colour or in the details of design, the sea has played an important role in many of our bespoke creations.
Luxury on the Water
With such inspirational beauty all around, Sanlorenzo extends the bespoke experience to life on the water, creating a tailor-made world that aligns perfectly with its clients and elevates their time at sea to the next level.
Sanlorenzo’s 57Steel Virtuosity was recently awarded the Judges Commendation at this year’s Boat International Design and Innovation Awards, the custom interior for the remarkable 56.5m yacht was realised by renowned Italian designer Piero Lissoni, who is also Art Director at Sanlorenzo.
It was the project’s curvaceous staircase which particularly caught the eye of the judges. Describing it as ‘breath-taking’ and a ‘masterpiece’, the judging panel were captivated by its beautiful architecture, noting the construction and unique use of Corian and steel.
The Beauty of Bespoke
Employing artisans of the finest calibre, from designers to craftsman, and with painstaking care taken at every stage, incredible quality is synonymous with the bespoke experience. Whether jewel or vessel, custom creation is the ultimate expression of personal style and the pinnacle of luxury living.
The beauty of bespoke is not limited to the final creation, the creative journey is equally as significant as clients work in close unity with designers, becoming part of the process. The end result is something multi-layered and extraordinary, with its own story to tell.
