Unfortunately, due to the levels of COVID infection, the German authorities have cancelled the annual Dusseldorf Boat Show for the second year running. It is such a fantastic show, we are devastated but will endeavour to enable you to climb onboard the best from Sanlorenzo and Bluegame Yachts via the shipyard directly or at other events in the coming months.

The line-up was to include the new Sanlorenzo SL90A along with the Bluegame BGX60, BG72 and the world launch of the new BG54.

Sanlorenzo signs an exclusive partnership with Siemens Energy

A collaboration focused on developing new solutions to reduce the environmental impact of motor yachts.

Sanlorenzo opened the Cannes Yachting Festival announcing the signing of an exclusive agreement with Siemens Energy for the joint development of solutions for the integration of fuel cell technology in the 24-80m yachting sector and two contracts for the development and the purchase of next generation diesel electric and hybrid systems. The agreement will enable the creation of new technologies aimed at significantly reducing the impact of yacht usage on the marine ecosystem, with significant benefits in terms of environmental sustainability. The collaboration will be implemented in three areas:

• Methanol fuel cell systems for generating electricity on board: an innovative solution, not yet available in the yachting sector, which allows the vessel to generate electricity when the engines and generators are off, significantly extending the time spent at anchor and while underway without consuming diesel fuel. The project aims to create a “net-zero GHG emission” system compatible with the limited space available on board and with use in a marine environment. The first prototype will be installed on a 50-metre Sanlorenzo hybrid superyacht currently in advanced design, whose delivery is expected in 2024.
• New generation diesel electric propulsion systems aimed at reducing GHG emissions and fuel consumption, intended for application on yacht models over 50 metres: the current technology, already used on megayachts, thanks to the collaboration with Siemens Energy will see a significant evolution in terms of energy efficiency and reduction of overall dimensions and will be integrated with the latest generation of lithium batteries and hotel utility management systems; in the future, it will also be possible to integrate electrical generation through fuel cells. The first signed order covers the application on three Sanlorenzo units from 50 to 70 metres.
• New-generation hybrid propulsion systems designed to reduce GHG emissions and fuel consumption, intended for use on yachts below 50 meters: the current technology, already used on superyachts, thanks to the collaboration with Siemens Energy, will see significant optimisation in terms of size, costs and ease of use and will be integrated with the latest generation of lithium battery systems and hotel utility management; in the future, it will also be possible to integrate electrical generation via fuel cells. The first signed order is for implementation on the new SD90S model which will see light during 2022.

Sanlorenzo yachts honoured at both the World Yachts Trophies 2021 and at the World Superyacht Awards 2021

The success of Sanlorenzo’s new asymmetrical models has not been long in coming and, after the overwhelming positive response received on their debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2021, their success is confirmed by the double victory at the World Yachts Trophies 2021: SL120A and SL90A triumphed in their own categories receiving respectively the awards for “Best Layout” and “Best innovation”, presented by the international jury during the award ceremony.

In 2018 Sanlorenzo launched its first asymmetrical model, the SL102A, revolutionising the traditional layout of a yacht creating additional volume in the interiors while allowing direct contact with the sea.

The concept of the asymmetrical line, which was born from an original idea of Chris Bangle, the brilliant car designer, and interpreted by Bernardo Zuccon, designer of the exterior lines, together with Sanlorenzo, now evolve and find new design declinations in the new models of the range.

At the same time, the Sanlorenzo SX112 also won the World Superyacht Award in the “Semi-Displacement or Planing Motor Yachts 30m to 39.9m” category, thanks to its innovative technological solutions, such as the spacious 90-msq beach area at the stern, which is extremely flexible and expandable via the two side terraces which connect the boat to the sea in ways not seen before, a feature that gives the project new living perspectives and possibilities.

Sanlorenzo SX88 to make its UK Debut at Southampton Boat Show

The UK’s largest boat show is back for 2021, taking place over 10 days from the 10th to the 19th September. The Sanlorenzo UK team will be there to show off the beautiful SX88 for what we believe is the first time in the shows history to have a Sanlorenzo on display.

A synthesis between the classic flybridge motor yacht and the growing explorer style yachts, the SX88 is a fast displacement crossover flybridge yacht with a large beach club connecting you to the sea. She can sleep up-to eight guests across her four staterooms, including one owner’s suite, a VIP cabin and two guest cabins. The SX88 offers an expansive saloon with floor-to-ceiling windows to give panoramic views and plenty of natural light. A unique feature includes the removal of the helm station from the main deck, giving the owner the choice of multiple layouts and space. Her flybridge includes sunbathing loungers aft and a semi-al fresco dining space. Aft of her main deck is lounge seating, and from here guests can access her 30 square-metre beach club which holds her tenders and toys while under way.

Revealed: BOAT Design & Innovation Awards 2021 Winners

Outstanding Exterior Design, Motor Yachts 24m to 39.9m

In this very competitive category, the SX112 distinguished itself for its great use of space and glass. The flagship of the SX line presents several new features, but one engineered with great care, is particularly interesting. An integrated davit in the boat’s side is invisible until it pivots to offload a tender stored on what is an exceptionally large beach platform/aft deck (8.5 sq. metres) for a boat of this length. With its unusual layout, styling features that emphasise connection with the environment and oversized beach club with multiple openings, the judges felt it creates an entirely new boating lifestyle.

Announcing the arrival of the first Sanlorenzo SX88 in the UK.

Sanlorenzo Yachts UK & Ireland is delighted to announce arrival of the first Sanlorenzo SX88 in the UK.

Turning heads as she made her way up the river to her temporary berth outside the Sanlorenzo UK office in Swanwick marina, near Southampton.

The SX88 offers an expansive saloon with large floor to ceiling windows affording panoramic views and minimising the division between the interior and exterior of the yacht. A feature unique to the SX88 is the removal of a helm station from the main deck, which allows a new owner the space and flexibility to choose from a number of different layouts.

On the flybridge, the helm position can be entirely enclosed and air-conditioned with automatically operated side windows, leaving the vast main deck free from stern to bow – an exclusive loft which is suitable for navigating in all weather conditions.

The transom design on this 27-metre yacht allows for the storage of multiple water toys and a tender up to 4.5 metres. When the toys are launched using the integrated crane the area converts into a spacious 30m² beach club, complete with hydraulic swim platform.

Up to eight guests can be accommodated in the four-cabin lower deck layout lower, which is divided into a master suite, a forward VIP suite and two twin guest cabins.

Powered by three Volvo IPS1050-800HP, the SX88 has a fast-cruising speed of 18-20 knots, with a maximum speed of 23 knots.

This new SX88 will be available to view prior to handover through the Sanlorenzo UK team.
