With 86 projects in 2020, once again Sanlorenzo tops the worldwide ranks of the leading manufacturer of yachts over 24 meters in length

Press release, 14 December 2020 – Once again this year, Sanlorenzo tops the annual rankings of the Global Order Book, reported by the magazine Boat International, confirming its position as the world’s leading single-brand shipyard in the production of yachts and superyachts over 24 meters in length. With 86 projects in 2020, equivalent to total length of 3089 meters, Sanlorenzo is once again at the top of the yachting sector, both in terms of number of boats and in terms of total length, also recording an average length of models produced constantly growing over the last 15 years.

The excellent results have been achieved both through to the growth of the Yacht division and the success of the new SX crossover line and thanks to the Superyacht division with 23 models under construction in 2020 in the La Spezia shipyard.
Among the new models, the 44Alloy fast-displacement superyacht, with a length of 44.5 meters, entirely in aluminium with an unprecedented layout for maximum indoor-outdoor eurythmics, and the 62Steel, which with its overall length of 61.5 meters, maximum width of 11.9, gross tonnage of 1200 and five decks offers surprising solutions capable of ensuring exceptional on-board comfort and livability.

While the numbers confirm the company’s solidity and resilience, in step with constant innovation in terms of engineering and styling, they also bear out the unrivalled leadership of Sanlorenzo in the sector, based on its peerless ability to foresee the demands of the market, adapting to new limits and setting new standards in the world of yachting, with every project.

Sanlorenzo unveils the flagship of the SL line with asymmetric layout

Press release, 10th December – After having revolutionized nautical design with the launch of the world’s first asymmetrical yacht, Sanlorenzo continues to shape traditional on-board balances, taking the asymmetric concept to new expressive heights: space, comfort, functional quality, great flexibility of use and an effective connection between internal and external volumes are all combined in the SL120Asymmetric yacht, the brand’s new proposal for living that feels like hovering over the sea.

SL120Asymmetric is the name of the new flagship of the asymmetric line by Sanlorenzo, the planning model with a length of 36.92 meters that will make its official debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2021. With this new model, once again Sanlorenzo demonstrates its particular talent for working on the concept of space and shaping it at will, to guarantee maximum on-board livability.

The concept of asymmetry is developed in a new way on the SL120Asymmetric, giving rise to an unprecedented layout that generates greater utilization of internal spaces and improved communication with outdoor zones. On this model, Sanlorenzo has applied the asymmetrical configuration only in the living area of the main deck, extending from the cockpit to the center of the vessel. First of all, this choice permits the expansion of this area of 8 sqm, eliminating the starboard side deck and maximizing connection with the sea by creating an ample dining room on one side, with full-height glazing, and a living area on the other side that opens onto a balcony, thanks to a sliding wall and an openable terrace. It also makes it possible to totally utilize the internal space of the contiguous forward zone, the location of the owner’s cabin which extends for the entire width of the hull.

This new asymmetric layout is possible thanks to the particular design of the side deck which is now placed only on the port side of the main deck, where it flanks the living area as far as the vessel’s midpoint, then leading to the flying bridge and descending into the outdoor lounge at the bow by means of a flight of steps.

Another fundamental design feature of the SL120Asymmetric is the organization of outdoor spaces. The outdoor lounge at the bow, for example, develops on two decks connected by a staircase, with direct access from the owner’s cabin. It is a space of 15 sqm conceived for a range of different uses: while the foredeck is completely outfitted as a large sunbathing area, the upper deck features a table for outdoor dining, which can also be transformed as a sundeck. Furthermore, the C-shaped sofa facing the deckhouse can be replaced with a Jacuzzi.

The full connection with the sea and the livability of the outdoor spaces reach their peak in the stern zone of the lower deck. The garage can be transformed into a marvelous beach club of 45 sqm, thanks to the folding terraces, offering guests exceptional access to the sea “au fil de l’eau.” The concept of the asymmetric line is the result of a meeting of different minds and creative talents: from an original idea of Chris Bangle, the brilliant car designer, to the technicians and designer working in the shipyard, all the way to Bernardo Zuccon of the studio Zuccon International Project, responsible for the external and internal lines of the SL120Asymmetric.

The evocative photographic portfolio which was put together within the La Spezia shipyard, reveals how each Sanlorenzo superyacht is the result of a complex, transversal and innovative project: each boat over 40 meters long, comes to life from the hull, forged in metal like some work of art, and on through the work of skilled local artisans who take the greatest of care with every little detail, making each product unique and special, thereby assuring the desired reaction from the owner every time.

The photos of Silvano Pupella thus recount the work of these highly skilled artisans whose masterful craftsmanship makes these sophisticated elegant yachts what they are, as if they were being crafted in a Renaissance workshop.

His sophisticated black and white by introducing us at the initial production stages of the steel superyachts, is able to excite by enhancing the hidden charm and the intrinsic beauty of the unfinished products.

Images that by documenting the various phases of preparation of the metal hulls, can perfectly relate the atmosphere of this place full of technology but also of precious and irreplaceable manual skill.

SD118: Sanlorenzo brings the asymmetry concept on semi-displacement models

With 4 units already sold, SD118 explores new ways of living on the sea, providing wide spaces and a new idea of comfort and on-board livability

The SD118 is the new yacht with a length of 35.75 meters, expanding the historic line of semi-displacement models by Sanlorenzo, yachts that offer great autonomy for the most expert lovers of life on the sea.

In a perfect balance between classic, traditional lines and a contemporary interpretation, taken to new levels of elegance thanks to the essential aesthetic of the wide-body hull, SD118 is a proposal that reflects the constant innovation and research conducted by the brand over the years.

Thanks to its novel configuration, the bow outdoor living area of SD118 is organised on two connected levels, the upper deck and the forward deck, that form a very large area for relaxation in the open air to which the owner has direct access from his cabin by means of a sliding hatch concealed below the staircase connecting the two decks that guarantees a total privacy.

The fulcrum of the innovation of SD118, however, is the upper deck, which thanks to the intuition of Bernardo Zuccon has an asymmetrical configuration previously applied only to the SL line, which guarantees greater space, comfort, flexibility of use, and a direct view of the sea from both sides, generating total indoor-outdoor connection.

While the port side features a side deck that leads seamlessly from stern to bow, along which the bulwark at the position of the living area opens to form a terrace, the starboard side is like that of a wide-body hull. In this way, the furthest deck from the sea brings guests closer to the water, its light and colors, in both visual and emotional terms.

The new model also has a revised stern zone with expanded spaces and comforts with respect to the previous models in the SD line. At anchor, this zone is transformed into a swim platform of 19 sqm thanks to large lateral hatches that open to permit diving and sunbathing au bord de l’eau.

Demonstrating Sanlorenzo’s ability to foresee the needs of clients and the widest range of requests, prior to the official launch, 4 units of the SD118 model have already been sold, including the version with interiors by Bernardo and Martina Zuccon that will be presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2021, and the version with a sophisticated, elegant and contemporary interpretation by Patricia Urquiola, who continues to collaborate with Sanlorenzo, boarding the new SD118 with her inimitable style balanced between rigor and irony, industrial design and crafts.

Sanlorenzo delivers the second 44 Alloy yacht

The aluminium 44-meter sets sail: the second of 5 units already sold

Sanlorenzo channels the best of its experience, craftsmanship and innovation into the creation of Superyachts, a category that offers yachtsmen the most authentic sense of seagoing adventure, with large and variegated on-board spaces and technologies of the latest generation for outstanding range and independence.

At the shipyard in La Spezia, with an impressive production site of over 50,000 sqm, entirely set aside for the design and construction of metal boats from 42 to 70 meters in length, the Sanlorenzo Superyacht division continues to grow, with the delivery of the second unit of the new 44 Alloy: a fast-displacement model, 44.5 meters long, entirely in aluminium, that takes the concept of livability to new heights thanks to an unprecedented layout and maximum harmony between the interiors and outdoor zones.

The fulcrum of the project is the owner’s cabin conceived as a private apartment of 154 sqm, divided into three levels with indoor and outdoor areas, a solution never seen before on a superyacht of this size.

As a conceptual update of the prize-winning 40Alloy, the new model provides surprising spaces for the yachtsman and his guests, such as the large beach club that opens on three sides for total connection with the sea, while the foredeck, with its open area, offers a wide range of usage possibilities.

A completely new project developed by the Sanlorenzo team, which has entrusted the design of the external lines and the concept development to the creativity of the studio Zuccon International Project, headed by Bernardo Zuccon, with a completely original layout unlike any other existing on the market for a yacht of this size.
The design prowess of the Sanlorenzo team and Bernardo Zuccon has enabled them to invent, design and produce a yacht with three decks and 480 GRT, with an extremely streamlined profile, offering solutions comparable to large megayachts at the same time, such as the owner’s suite on three levels.

The Superyacht shipyard in La Spezia now has 20 metal units under construction, including five in the 44 Alloy series. In recent months the division has delivered four Superyachts, a 52 meters, an Explorer of 47 meters and two 44 meters units, which with the two upcoming launches and the delivery of the 62 meters prior to the end of 2020 bear witness to the outstanding results achieved.

Sanlorenzo continues its unstoppable progress, demonstrating once again that nautical design is a live, creative world, versatile and constantly evolving, capable of generating unexpected proposals by focusing on the highest quality of life on board.

THE WORLD PREMIERE OF THE NEW SANLORENZO SX112 AT GENOA BOAT SHOW

Exterior Design: Zuccon International Project / Interior design: Piero Lissoni

The SX112 is the new flagship of the innovative SX crossover line, the first in the world of yachting, launched in 2017 by Sanlorenzo and result of the synthesis between the classic motor yacht with flybridge and what is now recognised as an Explorer yacht. A combination of style, flexibility and functional quality.

The SX112 is 34 meters in length and represents the consolidation of a path that began with the SX88, first, and then the SX76. Many of the normal barriers on board are eliminated, and the boat opens to the outside, in a close relationship with environment beyond.

The design of the new model has been assigned, for the external lines, to the creativity of Bernardo Zuccon, of Studio Zuccon International Project, who has concentrated on reinforcing the “family feeling” of the range, bringing out certain linguistic choices such as the balance of the volumes and the fluid forms, and to Piero Lissoni, art director of the company since 2018, for the interiors of the first unit, who has focused on the subdivision of the internal spaces, in constant dialogue with their outdoor counterparts.

In line with the concept developed for the other models, the main deck has been organized as an open space, to maximize the relationship with outdoor spaces.

Beach Club

The focal point of the project is the new stern zone, which undoubtedly represents the most iconic area of the yacht, a choice that generates new living perspectives based on an idea of the architect Luca Santella, creator of the concept of the innovative SX crossover line. A refinement and evolution of the design of SX88, the new model offers a spacious beach area of about 90 sqm, expandable thanks to folding terraces, composed of an internal zone with fitness area directly connected to the outside by means of large sliding glass doors that permit the owners to utilize the spaces in an unprecedented way, maximizing the indoor-outdoor relationship.

The SX76 and SX 88 are also available to view until the 6th Oct at the Genoa Boat Show. For more information or to arrange a viewing – please see: HERE or call the Sanlorenzo UK Team on: +44(0)7879 841594.
